Avengers Campus Molecular Meltdown Copycat Drink Recipe

Our Avengers Campus Molecular Meltdown copycat recipe is a beautiful experiment in what happens when you combine ice cream and beer! Spoiler alert: It's amazing! It shouldn't come as surprise that a milk stout complements ice cream....but marshmallows?

The original Molecular Meltdown, along with many other cocktails, is found at Pym Tasting Lab in Disneyland's Avengers Campus. The bulk of the drink is beer from Garage Brewing Company, located in Temecula, California. Their award-winning Marshmallow Milk Stout is a self-described as having a "roasty and smooth flavor, with dark malts, the scent of vanilla, and a touch of sweetness!" YUM!

Somehow, the milk stout, vanilla ice cream, and mini marshmallows make for the most delicious float. When they combine, it tastes almost like a chocolate malt. This makes perfect sense because of the malt in the beer! Plus, it's straight-up fun watching the ice cream and beer interact, as it swirls and bubbles, like a gorgeous piece of art.

The mini marshmallows on top aren't soft like your usual jet-puffed marshmallows. Kraft's Jet-Puffed Marshmallow Bits have a slight crunchiness to them. This crunchiness is similar to a marshmallow dunked in liquid nitrogen. They add a very fun texture to the float. While Disney adds just a smattering of marshmallows to the top of their drinks, you can add however many you'd like!

Avengers Campus Molecular Meltdown Beaker

On opening day, and for several months following, these drinks were served in plastic beakers donned with the PYM Technologies logo. Unfortunately, Disneyland discontinued the souvenir beakers, but didn't lower the price. But, we found this amazing beaker beer glass on Amazon (if purchasing, make sure to select the one without the handle). It's perfectly sized for a large Avengers Campus Molecular Meltdown!
